As part of its commitment to open information sharing, the GAINS team have released the code behind the WISDOM Map Explorer. The code makes use of IS Consulting’s MapDotNet Server and SDK. Version 1.1.2 of the map is currently on display (by registering with the site and going to http://www.gains.org/MapTools/WISDOMMapExplorer/tabid/547/Default.aspx) and version two is currently entering a test and review phases. The code and supporting documentation can be viewed here: http://www.gains.org/Default.aspx?TabId=114&EntryId=8263&DMXModule=505 The application is written in a mixture of VB.NET and C# and pulls data from a Standard SQL Database and an ArcSDE Database. The application is implemented within the DotNetNuke enterprise web application framework. The application integrates with Microsoft’s SQL Server Reporting Services through parameterized URL links to reports. The code is made available with a standard BSD license.
